True Digital Swimwear Printing on Recycled Nylon

True Digital Swimwear Printing
on Recycled Nylon

Why We Print Digitally

In short, printing on recycled nylon looks and feels way better than sublimation on polyester.

Most Bali swimwear manufacturers use Vita PL, a polyester base that tends to feel stiffer, stretch less, and gives prints a flatter finish.

We’ve been printing fabrics for over 30 years — and after testing every method out there, we’ve found what actually works best for swimwear.

We’re the only swimwear manufacturer in Bali offering real digital printing on recycled nylon, using the same REPREVE® base as our solid colours.

Combined with Italian MS digital printers and eco-certified dyes, this setup gives you:

  • Rich, organic, true-to-life colours
  • A super-soft hand feel
  • Superb body sculpting
  • Excellent resistance to saltwater, chlorine, UPF50+
Put simply: no other print method comes close.

Why It Matters

Brands that include one or more prints per collection tend to outperform those working only with solids. Digital motifs are dead easy to print, far more simply than requesting custom plain dyed colours & and easy way to create a more distinct, elevated line.

MOQ & Lead Time

  • 70m per motif, used in your production order

  • Sample prints: 2m sections available during development

  • Allow 2 weeks from request to fabric landing in Bali, ready to cut

All printed fabrics are produced offshore and air-freighted weekly under our tax-free import license, keeping prices low and timing reliable.

Uploading Your Print Files

You can upload your own custom artwork during development. Here’s what we need:

  • Print-ready file in 300dpi resolution

  • Format: TIFF or PSD preferred (RGB mode)

  • Full-scale repeat clearly marked

  • Include a separate preview image (JPG or PDF) to show layout and scale

If you’re not sure how to set this up, our graphics team can assist — in most cases free of charge. Just send over what you have and we’ll guide you from there.

Selecting Print Fabrics

Both of our print bases — Hawaii and Tahiti — are:
  • Made from recycled post-consumer waste.
  • Lightweight, UV- and chlorine-resistant

  • Digitally printed for rich, saturated colour.
The difference comes down to where and how the swimwear will be worn

Working with Custom or Online Prints

Adding prints to your collection is easier than most brands expect. Whether you’re creating your own or purchasing online, we’ll guide you through each step.

1. Submitting Artwork for Digital Printing

If you’re designing your own print, we recommend Adobe Illustrator or working with a graphic designer familiar with seamless repeat patterns.
Accepted file formats:
  • Vector: AI, EPS, SVG
  • Raster: JPG, PNG, PDF (300 dpi)
Your artwork must be seamlessly repeating, meaning the edges tile without visible joins. You’ll also need front and back screenshots or a clear layout showing how the print should appear on each style.
If you’re unsure, simply send your file — our graphics team will check it for you, usually at no charge.

2. Purchasing Prints Online

Many brands choose to purchase ready-made motifs online.
Recommended platforms:
Tips
  • Search using the word “seamless
    Example: “abstract floral seamless pattern”
  • Choose vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) for best scaling.
  • Send us the original file, or let us help with layout and checks.

Free Motifs

We also offer a curated selection of free print motifs on our Pinterest page.
Browse, select, and send us your favourites — we’ll handle the rest.

Check out this Quick Guide, which explains the difference between random and placement prints — a simple yet useful read if you’re new to print layouts.

Example: The motif below repeats seamlessly both left-to-right and top-to-bottom (most motifs repeat every 10–20 cm).

Colour Accuracy & Pantone Matching

Digital printing can sometimes interpret similar colour tones differently, especially within the same colour family (greens, greys, blues).
  • Prints with 3–4 distinct colours are usually very accurate.
  • For precise matching, we recommend using Pantone references.
If needed, we can produce a 2-meter strike-off sample before bulk printing to confirm colour accuracy.
