True Digital Swimwear Printing on Recycled Nylon

True Digital Swimwear Printing
on Recycled Nylon

Why We Print Digitally

Simply put: printing on recycled nylon is far superior to printing on polyester via sublimation.

Most Bali swimwear manufacturers print on Vita PL — a polyester base, which results in a flatter finish, feeling stiffer offering less stretch.

fabric feel. Despite the similar name, Vita PL is not nylon, and performs nothing like it.

We’re the only swimwear manufacturer in Bali offering true digital printing on recycled nylon — the same American REPREVE® base used in our solid colours.

Paired with Italian MS digital printers and eco-certified dyes, this method delivers:

  • Rich, organic, true-to-life colours
  • A super-soft hand feel
  • Superb body sculpting
  • Excellent resistance to saltwater, chlorine, UVF50+
Put simply: no other print method comes close.

Why It Matters

Brands that include one or more exclusive prints per collection tend to outperform those working only with solids. Digital motifs are dead easy to print, far more simply than requesting custom plain dyed colours & and easy way to create a more distinct, elevated line.

Selecting Print Fabrics

REPREVE® Tahiti and REPREVE® Hawaii are our own named fabric programs, developed by Swimwear Bali and used by global brands seeking a premium printed swimwear solution.
Both are engineered for true digital printing and offer excellent resistance to chlorine and saltwater, ensuring prints remain vibrant over time.
  • Tahiti has a a higher chlorine resistance and chosen for collections focused on pools.
  • Hawaii is typically selected for beach and ocean-based swimwear.
In practice, both fabrics are interchangeable and deliver exceptional results for true-to-life printed swimwear designs.

Working with Custom or Online Prints

Adding prints to your collection is easier than most brands expect. Whether you’re creating your own or purchasing online, we’ll guide you through each step.

1. Submitting Artwork for Digital Printing

If you’re designing your own print, we recommend Adobe Illustrator or working with a graphic designer familiar with seamless repeat patterns.
Accepted file formats:
  • Vector: AI, EPS, SVG
  • Raster: JPG, PNG, PDF (300 dpi)
Your artwork must be seamlessly repeating, meaning the edges tile without visible joins. You’ll also need front and back screenshots or a clear layout showing how the print should appear on each style.
If you’re unsure, simply send your file — our graphics team will check it for you, usually at no charge.

2. Purchasing Prints Online

Many brands choose to purchase ready-made motifs online.
Recommended platforms:
Tips
  • Search using the word “seamless
    Example: “abstract floral seamless pattern”
  • Choose vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) for best scaling.
  • Send us the original file, or let us help with layout and checks.

We also offer a curated selection of free print motifs on our Pinterest page.

Colour Accuracy & Pantone Matching

Digital printing can sometimes interpret similar colour tones differently, especially within the same colour family (greens, greys, blues).
  • Prints with 3–4 distinct colours are usually very accurate.
  • For precise matching, we recommend using Pantone references.
If needed, we can produce a 2-meter strike-off sample before bulk printing to confirm colour accuracy.
