Swimwear Bali

Swimwear Fabrics & Colours

At Swimwear Bali, we give you access to high-quality, eco-certified swimwear fabrics without the high price tag. As the only bonded manufacturer in Bali with tax-free fabric import license, we save up to 35% on import duties. This allows us to offer premium imported fabrics at prices that consistently beat other Bali swimwear manufacturers relying on lower-grade local materials.
With over 30 years of production experience in Bali, we understand how fabrics behave on the body and over time. From softness and stretch recovery to colour fastness and durability in sun, salt, and chlorine, our focus is on helping your brand achieve the same premium feel and performance found in leading global swimwear labels.
We stock over 100 colorways imported from Italy and the United States, produced from salvaged fishing nets and post-consumer waste. If you have your own fabric supplier or require a colour not currently in stock, in most cases, we can import on your behalf.
Stock fabrics are not leftovers; they are imported via weekly flights and topped up as we cut production orders. Select your colours & move directly to production, ready for uplift to any overseas address via DHL in most cases in 4 weeks.
Whether you’re working with solids, prints, seamless construction, or reversible styles, our team will guide you toward the most suitable fabric for your designs.

Recycled Fabrics from the World’s Leading Mills

In the main we import from three Fabric mills, Carvico & Jersey Lomellina(Italy), REPREVE® (USA) & Power Fit (Korea).
carvico logo

We work closely with Carvico and Jersey Lomellina to offer premium Italian swimwear fabrics, all with excellent body sculpting performance. We stock Vita, made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon, along with Sumatra and Pantelleria, available in around 80 ready-to-cut colours. Looking for something specific? We can import any fabric from the full Carvico or JL range on request.

Made from post-consumer recycled nylon, REPREVE® is a go-to for premium swimwear. It offers rich colour saturation, a soft yet supportive hand feel, and excellent long-term performance in sun, salt, and chlorine. We use it extensively for both plain colours and digital prints thanks to its consistency and quality — all with a much lower environmental impact than virgin nylon.
To enhance performance and longevity, LYCRA XTRA LIFE® fibre is added to our fabrics, providing superior stretch and recovery and lasting up to 10 times longer than generic chlorine-resistant spandex.
All fabrics are:
  • Saltwater and chlorine resistant
  • UPF50+ protected
  • Certified by U Trust and GRS
By choosing recycled fabrics over virgin materials, carbon emissions can be reduced by up to 80%, while allowing your brand to confidently promote sustainable and ethical production.
Note
For lighter colours, particularly white swimwear, even premium fabrics can appear slightly transparent when wet or stretched. For better coverage, we can add an additional inner layer to bikini bottoms or swimwear shorts if requested. This creates a three layer construction that improves opacity.

Using swimwear in hot tubs and thermal spas
Hot tubs and thermal spas expose swimwear to higher temperatures and chemicals than normal pools. Over time, this may affect colour and elasticity, especially when garments remain in hot water for extended periods.
If swimwear is used in these environments, we recommend rinsing it in fresh cool water after use and avoiding prolonged exposure to hot chlorinated water.

In-Stock Colours for Speed and Flexibility

fabricroll
We stock Bali’s largest range of imported recycled swimwear colours, allowing you to produce samples and move into bulk production without waiting for colours to be imported.
For new brands, selecting in-stock colours is the most efficient and cost-effective way to begin.
Benefits of stocked colours
  • Faster timelines
  • Easier top-up orders
  • No large fabric commitments
For established brands, we import custom colours in 70-meter rolls via weekly flights. Supplier requirements determine the MOQ per colour, and rolls must be fully used within your order. Each roll yields approximately 200 bikini pieces or 100 sets.
Custom Colour Requests
Not seeing the colour you want?
If a colour isn’t in stock, you can request any shade from the full Carvico or Jersey Lomellina colour cards. Just tell us the fabric name — we’ll send you a PDF with all available options.

REPREVE® Custom Colours

Custom dyeing for REPREVE® fabrics is available with:

  • 100m minimum per colour

  • $80 USD surcharge per colour

Please note: Due to the nature of small-batch dyeing, REPREVE® allows for up to ±20% variation in the final amount delivered.

All custom-dyed fabrics must be fully used in your order.

Requesting Fabrics not in our inventory
If there’s a fabric you have in mind that we don’t offer, we’re happy to import it. Well require to know either the name of the fabric or the supplier’s name and fabric code, and we’ll look into it & get back with the relevant details. Bear in mind that importing from unfamiliar suppliers can come with higher costs, slower timelines, and large minimums.

Do You Use Local Bali Swim Fabrics?

We only use locally sourced fabrics in very rare cases — usually when timelines are especially tight.

While they may seem convenient, many are unverified copies, and certifications can be unreliable. Colour availability and fabric quality often vary between batches, which makes repeat orders tricky to manage.

For brands focused on growth, consistency, and a premium result, imported fabrics remain the more dependable choice.

Once you’ve shortlisted your colours, the next step is sampling. Here’s what to expect.

Fabric Swatch Packs

Get a feel for quality before you commit. Our popular, affordable swatch packs include real fabric samples, matching laser-printed copy colour cards, and a curated selection of premium accessories—many of which can be custom-branded. With a good selection of fabric swatches to hand, choosing the perfect fabrics & colours for your collection has never been easier.

Requesting Prints

Prints are one of our specialities. We print digitally on REPREVE®, the softest fabric in our range, selected for its colour saturation, elasticity, luxurious hand feel, and long-term durability.
Contrary to popular belief, digital printing is often faster than requesting custom-dyed colours.

Notes

  • Mixing dark and light colours may result in colour bleeding, particularly if swimwear is left damp in plastic bags or used in heavily chlorinated pools
  • Each swimwear design can be assembled using a maximum of three colourways

Discounted Fabrics

Choose your fabrics and colours below. We’ll price your samples and bulk at 50% of the fabric cost, giving you a much higher margin. These colours are limited and won’t be restocked once sold.
