Blending Recycled Fabrics
ECONYL®, an Italian company, produces recycled yarns from discarded fishing nets and plastic bottles. These yarns are then purchased by Carvico to create high-quality, flexible fabrics for swimwear.
By blending ECONYL® with materials like Suplex or Extra Life Lycra, the resulting fabric offers excellent stretch and a super soft feel.

What are Ghosts Nets?
“Ghost nets” are abandoned fishing nets that continue to harm marine life, entangling and killing various species, from fish to large mammals. These nets can persist in oceans for up to 5,000 years, causing significant ecological damage. Alarmingly, fishing nets make up about 10% of ocean waste, underscoring the importance of recycling initiatives like ECONYL®’s to address this environmental issue.
