American REPREVE®

repreve1

REPREVE® is a global leading, branded performance fibre made from recycled materials such as salvaged Nylon fishing nets and post-consumer waste. It’s one of the world’s most loved and softest fabrics and the most selected fabric in our inventory. We purchase the yarns from the US and ship them to China, blending them with Lycra or Supplex to ensure the final products offer great stretch and superior body-enhancing properties.

repreve

We predominantly use Nylon over Polyester for swimwear production. Nylon plain colours are deep and rich, and when printed, the results are astonishing true-to-eye with deep organic looking plain dyes.

Italian CARVICO®

Carvico is a world-renowned manufacturer of plain-dyed swimwear fabrics that are known for their exceptional quality and durability. In the min we stock Vita, Sumatra, and Pantelleria and import any of their other fabrics in roll based in 70m lots.

ECONYL®

econyl

ECONYL® in Italy is a producer of recycled yarns only, not fabrics. ECONYL® sells these yarns to Carvico who then blend Extra Life Lycra to give their fabrics stretch and flexibility.
This results in a sustainably produced fabrics with super cotton like hand feel and body-enhancing properties.

ECONYL® is not just a fabric producer but a champion of environmental conservation. It partners with the Healthy Seas Initiative, a registered charity founded in 2013, to combat the ghost fishing phenomenon that needlessly claims the lives of marine animals. Together, they work with fishing communities to reduce pollution from plastic bottles and fishing nets, finding environmentally sustainable and financially feasible disposal methods. ECONYL® – regenerated Nylon & Polyester, introduced in 2011 by Aquafil, is a testament to their commitment, as it is made entirely from ocean plastic and Ghost Nets.

Every year, eight million tons of waste and 640 thousand tons of fishing nets end up in our oceans. (data sourced from UNEP & FAO). If the current level of dumping is not addressed, by 2050, our oceans could contain more garbage than fish.

What are Ghosts Nets?

A ghost net is not just an abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing net. It’s a silent killer, entangling and suffocating marine life long after it’s been discarded. This vicious cycle can last up to 5,000 years before Nylon nets break down, causing immeasurable harm to our oceans.

Approximately 10% of ocean waste is made up of fishing nets.
