Swimwear Manufacturing Guide
How to Choose a
Swimwear Manufacturer
in Bali
Late delivery and badly fitting samples are the two most common complaints we hear from brands who come to us after sampling with another manufacturer. Every remake adds time and cost, and a missed date can mean a missed season, a lost stockist, extra freight to rush stock and weeks spent chasing updates.
Our aim is to perfect your samples in the first round. Making custom swimwear in Bali since 1993 has taught us that hitting a deadline comes down to three things: honest quoting, fabric ready to cut and a team with years of experience producing high grade samples.
THE PROBLEM
Why Brands Get Let Down
The story is almost always the same: a supplier advertises sampling in a few days at prices far below anyone else, the brand pays, the dates slip, and the final bill is much higher than the quote that won them over.
A few days is not realistic for custom swimwear made properly, and a price far below the market rarely survives the real costs of fabric, labour and finishing. The quote wins the deposit. The delays and extra charges come later.
Sampling in 1 to 3 Weeks
What Honest Sampling Looks Like
We quote one to three weeks for custom samples, a timeline we can keep because every step is planned in advance. Once a sample order is paid:
- Cutting. We cut each style from fabric already in our warehouse.
- Branding. We heat press the client’s custom logo onto the inside back of each piece.
- Assembly. Skilled machinists in our sampling studio sew each sample to the client’s handover.
- Quality control. Our sampling QC team checks every finished sample.
- Dispatch. We send photos for the client to confirm, then DHL Express delivers the samples to their door.
Bulk Production
What Really Causes Delays
Once samples are approved, bulk production takes three to five weeks. When a date does move, there are usually two causes.
Imported fabrics
When a brand asks us to import a plain or printed fabric we do not stock, we depend on the mill and the freight. Dyeing is the stage most likely to run long, so we build it into the timeline.
Changes from the brand
A design altered after work has started, extra styles or samples added to an order in progress, or new samples requested once the first ones arrive: each resets part of the work. Before you commit to a change, a good manufacturer will tell you how it affects your date.

Questions to Ask Before You Pay
The most useful thing to ask a new manufacturer is what happens if they get it wrong. Before you pay for anything, ask:
- How long does each stage of sampling take?
- If you miss the quoted timeline, what compensation do you offer?
- If the final price is much higher than the prices on your website, how will you make it right?
- Can you put your timeline and pricing in writing?
A factory with a real process answers all four straight away. One that dodges them is a red flag.
Clear Communication
Updates From Day One
A manufacturer that delivers on time keeps you informed, so nothing comes as a shock. Expect this from anyone you choose.
As soon as a brand pays for samples, we assign one product development coordinator who knows the order. They check the handover in detail and arrange a call back to confirm exactly what the brand wants made. On request, we create digital mock-ups so the client sees the designs before anything is cut. If anything causes a delay, we tell the client straight away, because late news is what damages trust.
Why We Deliver
Built to Hit Deadlines
Promises only count if the factory is set up to keep them.
Fabric already on the shelf
We hold Bali’s only Tax Free Fabric Import Facility, which lets us keep large stocks of high grade Italian and American fabrics in the most requested colours, so there is no wait for imports.
Digital pattern making
Our pattern makers work digitally, which saves weeks compared with factories that still make patterns by hand.
An experienced team
Many of our 300 staff have more than 10 years’ experience making high grade swimwear. Fewer mistakes mean fewer remakes and fewer delays.
Proof in practice
Working with Australian brand Bydee, we have hit countless timelines that looked impossibly short at the start.
